There is something about baby’s first everything that makes parents want to celebrate and document the occasion. Halloween is no exception. It’s true that baby is far too young to go trick-or-treating or enjoy the I-know-it’s-bad-for-me-but-it’s-ok-once-in-awhile sugar and artificial ingredients packaged concoctions. But how can I resist those adorable tiny baby costumes? The only hurdle is that we are vegan and don’t purchase or eat most kid-coveted Halloween treats like Snickers or Reeses. Last year, Apollo was only a few days old so Mitz and I kept all the lights off and froze in silence waiting for the little humans knocking on the door to move on. But this year is different! This year, our adorable little frankenstein is earth-side. His grandparents will be also be in town so we’ll all be celebrating Halloween and my mom’s birthday together. After a quick Google search, I was thrilled to learn that plenty of Halloween goods are actually vegan, including Skittles! I previously thought the gelatin in it was derived from an animal source but was mistaken. So to all my fellow veg-heads and animal lovers, her is a list of vegan friendly Halloween treats and candies that you can enjoy knowing no harm was done to your fellow Earthlings so you risk cavities. 😛
- Sour Patch Kids
- The Original Cracker Jack
- Swedish Fish
- Air Heads
- Charms Blow Pops
- Jolly Rancher Lollipops
- Lemon Heads
If you are a notorious last minute everything-er like me, do yourself a favor and hit up Amazon now and order this mix of Swedish Fish, Sour Patch Kids and Oreos, check out with Prime and you’ll be good to go in a couple of days with vegan friendly treats.
If you don’t have Prime – you are seriously missing out! We buy almost everything on Amazon these days and Prime has helped with shipping and deals. Mitz just purchased a sewing machine from there that I am supposed to use to make Apollo’s first costume… and I don’t know how to sew. So check back in a few weeks to see either the masterpiece or the debacle which will ensue.
Happy Wednesday, friends! Thank you very much for stopping by.
